New Paddle Wheel Boat Will Cruise Big Bear Lake
Big Bear, CA. - The largest boat to cruise Big Bear Lake will soon arrive at Pine Knot Marina! The Paddlewheel boat is expected to arrive at her new home in Big Bear Lake California after a long 2,500 mile journey from the Florida Delta. The journey has been long, entailing sea and land transportation, ultimately up the steep and winding hill to its final destination in Pine Knot Marina at Big Bear Lake on May 25, 2007. The journey was photographed and tracked and will serve as another piece of history for Pine Knot Marina.

The boat is a 64' long, 24'6" high Skipperliner 1500 LX Paddlewheeler with steel bulkheads. It is a one of a kind, and will be the largest boat on the lake. The Paddlewheeler was built in 1994 and then completely refurbished in 2006. The beautiful iodized aluminum ceiling in the downstairs galley was salvaged from a New Orleans' boat that was damaged in the Katrina Hurricane and used in the refurbishing project. She features rich wood tables and accents, beverage bar, dining and a modern restroom. A feature that will benefit guests in any weather is fully-shaded and sheltered seating available on the upper deck and lower galley.
The Paddlewheeler is available for narrated tours as historic highlights and celebrity sightings will be referenced in the tour, with insight into the rich history of Big Bear Lake dating back to 1845. Captain Andrea Bill
The captain of the boat, Andrea Bill brings 1,500+ sea days of experience as captain of boats around the world including Australia, New Zealand, and the Carribean among many others. She was a Coastal Skipper for the Royal New Zealand Coastguard Federation and a USCG Merchant Marine Officer, 100 Gross Tons and Assistance Towing. Andrea is an EMP Medic First Aid Instructor. She is familiar with Big Bear Lake's history and will be narrating the cruise with interesting facts adding to a relaxing experience that brings the past to life.
